Sinossi / Synopsis
Sacrificio, una storia d’amore, nostalgia e una vita difficile lontana da casa: Carmen è un ritratto commovente e toccante di una donna che segue il suo cuore dal Venezuela a Madrid, ma trova una dura realtà. L’uomo che ha seguito è sparito e le sue giornate sono lunghe, solitarie e difficili. Si guadagna da vivere cantando nelle stazioni della metropolitana di Madrid, la musica venezuelana rimane la sua compagna costante. Carmen condivide sia la speranza che le sue canzoni con le persone che passano. Le canzoni la riportano al ricordo dei suoi figli, l’amore irraggiungibile e la sua vita lasciata in Venezuela. Nonostante le difficoltà e il dolore, è connessa alle persone attraverso la musica e l’amore.

Sacrifice, a love story, longing and a difficult life far away from home: Carmen is a poignant and heartfelt portrait of a woman who follows her heart from Venezuela to Madrid, but finds a hard reality. The man she followed is gone and her days are long, lonely and hard. She earns her living singing in the Metro stations of Madrid, where the urban underground becomes her world, and the music from Venezuela stays her constant companion. Carmen shares both hope and her songs she sings with people who pass her in the Metro. The songs transport her back to her memories of her children, the unattainable love and her life left behind in Venezuela. Despite the hardship and heartache, she is connected to people through the music, and the love she feels through the music. It gives her strength and dignity, and motivates her to try and be an example and an ambassador of humanity to those around her.
