Sinossi / Synopsis
“Revoltoso” è un cortometraggio in stop-motion che racconta la storia di un piccolo cinghiale con un occhio solo che vive nella hacienda di Don Gonzalo durante la Rivoluzione Messicana nel 1913. Don Gonzalo, un vivo sostenitore del recentemente esiliato presidente Porfirio Diaz, usa la forza dei suoi cinghiali selvatici per rafforzare la sua volontà. Un fotografo viene ingaggiato per filmare e documentare il suo regime. L’esercito rivoluzionario attacca l’hacienda per reclamare la terra per i lavoratori. Nel mezzo della battaglia, il piccolo cinghiale viene portato vicino alla videocamera e si trova a dover decidere cosa farne.

Revoltoso is a stop-motion short film that tells the story of a little one-eyed boar who lives in Don Gonzalo’s hacienda during the Mexican Revolution in 1913. Don Gonzalo, an avid follower of the recent exiled president, Porfirio Di­az, uses the strength of his wild boars to enforce his will. A photographer is hired to film and document his regime. The Revolutionary Army attacks the hacienda in order to reclaim the land to the workers. In the midst of this battle, the little boar is brought closer to the film camera and must decide what to do with it.

ARTURO AMBRIZ
Biografia / Biography:
Arturo Ambriz, comunemente noto come “Vonno”, è il co-fondatore e co-direttore di Cinema Fantasma, un’azienda creativa specializzata nello stop-motion e in altre tecniche di animazione classiche. Nato nel 1988 a Città del Messico, a 16 anni Arturo studia  Digital Filmmaking nell’ambito di un programma estivo alla New York Film Academy.

Arturo Ambriz, commonly called “Vonno”, is the cofounder and codirector of Cinema Fantasma, a creative company that specialises on stop-motion and other classic animation techniques. He was born on 1988 in Mexico City. When he was 16 years old he studied Digital Filmmaking on a summer program in the New York Film Academy. He has been working on the animated short film “Revoltoso” as director along his brother since 2011. 

ROY AMBRIZ
Biografia / Biography:
Roy Ambriz  nasce a Città del Messico nel 1990. Già in tenera età mostra interesse per le arti visive e narrative, il che lo porta a frequentare diversi corsi tra i quali teatro, disegno e scultura. All’età di quattordici anni inizia a prendere lezioni di trucco. Nel 2009 inizia il suo corso di laurea in Cinema e Televisione al  Centro de diseño, cine y televisión, laureandosi nel 2013 con il suo cortometraggio di tesi finale dal titolo “Telleth of those that dwell in the water”. Roy e il fratello sono stati due degli artisti invitati a mostrare un’opera d’arte su Guillermo Del Toro alla Gallery 1988 di Los Angeles.

Roy Ambriz was born in Mexico City in 1990. From an early age he showed interest in the visual arts and narrative, thus taking multiple courses in drama, drawing and sculpture among others. From the age of fourteen, began taking courses of special makeup effects. In 2009 he began his bachelor degree in Film and Television in Centro de diseño, cine y televisión and graduated in 2013 with his short film thesis “Telleth of those that dwell in the water”. He and his brother were two of the invited artists to showcase a piece of art on the Guillermo Del Toro: In The Service Of Monsters art show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles.
